Kiron Interactive has partnered Sportech Racing and Digital, a subsidiary of UK-listed operator Sportech, to supply its virtual racing products to racetracks in Latin American.

The three-year partnership will see Kiron’s virtual racing games integrated onto the Sportech Racing and Digital Quantum System wagering platform, complementing the on-course action.

The products will initially go live in Peru at the Jockey Club Peru racetrack, and via a network of more than eighty off-track betting agencies during the first quarter of the year, before being rolled out to additional Sportech customers in Central and South America.

Sportech said that in most cases, it will be the first time that virtual racing has been offered at these racetracks.

Virtual racing will be broadcast from Sportech Racing’s Quantum datacentre in New Jersey, offering clients a schedule of daily races from two virtual tracks, including commentary.

“We’re very excited to partner with Sportech Racing and Digital on this significant project for the Latin American market,” Kiron co-chief executive Steven Spartinos said of the partnership.

“Sportech are the market-leader in offering tote systems to racetracks in the region and are best-qualified to maximize the value of virtual racing to their clients,” he explained. “Based on initial indications, we’re expecting a big take-up by race-goers and look forward to entertaining them with our popular products.”

Sportech Racing and Digital president Andrew Gaughan added that his company was pleased to expand its Quantum System tote software to include the virtual sports offering.

“The Latin American market is well suited for a product such as virtual racing, which can offer an entertaining and engaging betting experience when live racing may not be available,” he said.
