Virtual games specialist Kiron Interactive and digital media company Vermantia have launched their joint virtual games service with two operators in Uganda.

Kings Bet and BETnSport will be the first retail bookmakers in the country to launch the service, which was introduced to the market in January of this year.

The service allows customers to bet on Kiron-developed virtual sports including football, cycling, horseracing and motor racing, while number games such as Keno will be added later this year.

The virtual solution will be launched in 130 shops during the initial phase, rising to 500 by the end of the year.

Steven Spartinos, co-chief executive officer of Kiron, said: “The channel is a cost-effective and scalable solution that can be beamed in to any corner of Africa, where virtual games have proven to be very popular.

“It is has launched very successfully in Nigeria and I’m sure the same will be the case in Uganda.

“Kings Bet and BETnSPORT now have a significant advantage in a very competitive market.”
