Virtual games specialist Kiron Interactive has been awarded a remote supplier’s licence by the UK Gambling Commission.

The licence will enable Kiron to provide its games to UK operators, following the recent introduction of a new regulation that requires such companies to source platforms and products from licensed suppliers only.

The successful licence application comes shortly after Kiron struck a number of deals in other countries as part of its wider global expansion programme.

In January of this year, Kiron agreed a deal with Sportech Racing and Digital, a division of pools and sports betting operator Sportech, to supply virtual racing to racetracks across Latin America.

Steven Spartinos, co-chief executive officer of Kiron, said: “We’re delighted to secure this as it enables us to offer our newly-expanded portfolio of games to UK-facing operators. It also gives them access to our bet management system, Betman Online.

“We look forward to discussing this turn-key virtual sports solution with operators in due course, along with those further afield for whom a respected regulator offers strong assurances.”
